Kream
3025 Peachtree Rd
Atlanta, GA 30305
Phone: (404) 266-1680

The Vibe: Drive by Club Kream any Saturday night, and you'll most certainly see a line. That doesn't mean you won't find plenty of seating inside, though--at least during early evening. By midnight, the entire orange-lit club is prime real estate for those wishing to see and be scene. Downstairs, the laid-back lounge to dance hall and reggae. Upstairs is filled with contemporary hip-hop and shoulder-to-shoulder ballers and shot callers. Guys, if you're not built like a linebacker, you're the minority. And if you're not dressed like money, the ladies--who go all out on their outfits--won't give you the time, let alone the digits. Kream continues in the tradition of the building's former occupant, Plush, as being a wall-to-fuzzy-wall weekend frenzy of high-end liquor and high-maintenance revelers. It's off the chain--if you can get past the rope.

The Wine Bar
(at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead)
3434 Peachtree Road
Atlanta, Ga.
Phone: (
404) 237-2700

The Vibe: The wine bar at the Ritz-Carlton Buckhead, an alcove off the see-and-be-seen lobby lounge, has the frilly décor Southerners love. And if fine wines and formal interiors make you nervous, get over it. Sommelier Carol Garrity simply wants you to love the grape. Each week she pours 20 wines, mostly from "new world" locations like South Africa, Chile and New Zealand into Riedel crystal, for $7–$20. Crave a sip that's not listed? She'll fetch it from the hotel's 1,500-bottle cellar.
